Anticipation Builds as New Hampshire Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $375 Million

6/6/2017

CONCORD, N.H. – With no lucky winner in the drawing on Saturday, June 3, the New Hampshire Powerball jackpot is expected to increase to $375 million for Wednesday’s drawing. The New Hampshire Lottery is anticipating the one-time cash payout will increase to $235.4 million. (Estimated jackpot amounts are before taxes).

“As the Powerball jackpot has grown over the past couple months to $375 million for Wednesday’s drawing, we can feel the Powerball fever rising with our players and retailers. Just last week alone, Powerball ticket sales reached nearly $1.2 million as the excitement grew,” said Charlie McIntyre, executive director of the New Hampshire Lottery. “We take pride in the fact that New Hampshire is home of the nation’s first lottery and that we have had 10 lucky Powerball winners. New Hampshire players, get your tickets now for a chance to take home $375 million!”
The Powerball drawing results from June 3 were: 3-9-21-41-54 PB-25 with a Power Play of 4.
Saturday’s Powerball drawing marked the 18th straight drawing without a winner. The Powerball jackpot has been growing since April 1.
Just last summer a New Hampshire player—who chose to remain anonymous—claimed a $487 million winning Powerball ticket sold at the Hannaford Supermarket in Raymond. The largest Powerball jackpot on record was $1.6 billion, which was split between winners in California, Tennessee and Florida in January 2016.
The New Hampshire Lottery recognized the 25th anniversary of Powerball earlier this year. Powerball game sales began nationally on April 19, 1992 and the first drawing was held on April 22, 1992. The New Hampshire Lottery began selling Powerball tickets 22 years ago, with the first New Hampshire Powerball drawing taking place on November 8, 1995. The New Hampshire Lottery has sold more than $821 million in total Powerball sales and has had 10 lucky jackpot winners.
Powerball drawings are held Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11:00 PM. Powerball tickets are on sale at more than 1,250 retailers in New Hampshire until 9:50 p.m. Wednesday.
